This consultant was engaged as Programme Director, Travel Sector for a UK cable company providing interactive digital television and broadband internet to businesses and consumers. She reported to the Director of Business Development, and was responsible for the Business Case, product development and launch of Application Service Provider (ASP) portal services into the UK leisure travel sector. Accountable for the management of £15M budget. 

Key Achievements included:

  • Developing and presenting eCommerce Business Case for the travel sector to the Board and won backing to deliver services with a £15M budget.
  • Launching a market leading portal for travel professionals in the UK which integrated legacy booking systems (Viewdata) into web technology.
  • Implementing distribution agreements and commercial negotiations with tour operators, content publishers and distributors.
  • Delivering tailored application and hosting solutions for other leading Travel eRetailers.
  • Recruiting and leading a team of systems integrators and multi-disciplined staff that delivered application service provider capabilities.
  • Launching a secure extranet for independent travel agents throughout the UK.
  • Migrating UK travel agent customers from a legacy X25 network to a standard Internet IP network.
