This consultant was recruited as the primary link between the management team of the electricity distribution business of a major energy company and the IT department project teams delivering new solutions and operational support.
Key Responsibilities included:
- Assisting the business to determine the most efficient business processes by delivering an IS Strategy to make the most effective and appropriate use of information technology to achieve business aims and goals.
- Working closely with both business and IT managers in order to develop and manage a business systems plan of mainly IT-related projects which represented a significant business investment (£10m capital spend).
- Identifying opportunities for IT to bring about business improvements and recognise technology trends to enable the business to exploit new IT opportunities and fed these into the business systems planning process.
- Managing the service that a network of suppliers and the IT department delivered to the business for the introduction of new solutions and liaised with IT managers to maintain a complete view of the overall service provided.
- Being a core member of the team to develop the IS Strategy and business case for the Joint Venture between two energy companies to establish 24 seven Utility Services.
