Our consultants work in virtually every public and private market sector.

Scale 
1200 people is a large consulting organisation in any terms but our ability to provide this number at this level of experience and seniority is, we believe, not replicated by any other firm in the UK (almost all our consultants were graded at Senior Manager, Director or Partner level when working with the ‘big-5’ and are delivery focused – we offer no juniors, learners or “salesmen"). The result for our clients is that we are able to tackle and deliver on the largest, most difficult and complex engagements. We also provide an unrivalled choice of senior individuals.

Scope of Services
The practical scope of the services we offer is limited only by the experience of our consultants – we do not offer services in which our consultants do not have considerable positive track record. As a result of the breadth, depth and scale of our capability we are able to offer high quality, integrated consulting solutions to most of today’s business problems.

Engagement Model
Corporate clients can choose how to engage with us, combining the best of three models:  


Resourcing Agency

Where clients prefer to engage resources on an agency basis, we can provide them. However, as The Knowledge Practice is run by management consultants, we are able to understand the problem context that has driven your need for external resource. Hence we reduce the risk of you receiving inappropriate resources who at best will waste your time at interview, and at worst will compromise the business outcome you seek.

Consultancy
The Knowledge Practice engages with clients to understand and validate a problem and propose a solution. Where required, we will contract for delivery of the solution in the same way as any other major consultancy but typically at much lower rates.

 


 

Virtual Internal Consultancy

In the ideal world every organisation would be able to maintain a pool of experienced independent consultants who:  

 

  • are not paid while not working for them BUT
  • nevertheless maintain an up to date knowledge of the organisation and the business issues and solutions of the day AND
  • can have the breadth, depth and relevance of their experienced tested in a relatively non-commercial environment and, in the process, are willing to individually share some of their leading edge knowledge and insight

We have created an incentives framework and infrastructure that allow this interaction to take place. As a client you can establish your own Virtual Internal Consultancy - a community of consultants with the skills and knowledge that you need who are willing to engage with you in this way.

High quality input at the earliest point in the discovery of an issue

 can help to ensure that related initiatives start off in the right direction, start quickly (or, when appropriate, don’t start at all!). This can make an enormous difference to the effectiveness of an organisation’s overall change effort and to its competitive advantage. This is just one of benefits of establishing a Virtual Internal Consultancy.

When a bigger issue requires resolution, The Knowledge Practice can be engaged in Consulting or Agency ‘mode’ extremely efficiently – as resources are taken from a known and trusted community, the client’s own virtual internal consultancy.

We work with clients to optimise the approach on a case by case basis and to lower the cost and risk of ‘doing business with each other’.
