Business transformation consultant for major business transformation programme

This consultant was engaged as Business Transformation Consultant for a hardware and consultancy services supplier on a major business transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities included:

  • Advising the senior team on the structuring of a business transformation program at the major division (£250m T/O).
  • Managing workshops to scope the project; link operational goals to strategic objectives; identify improvement projects; design program organisational structure; build team coherence and commence the program communications process.
  • Planning and delivering short term improvement projects.
  • Planning longer term transformation program.
  • Setting up change management and program management processes and structure to drive the changes.
# Reconstruction of a £1.0 billion asset register for leading bank

This consultant was engaged by a major bank as Project Manager.

Key Deliverables included:

  • Project managing the reconstruction of a £1.0 billion asset register for the bank's Property Services Division in order to avoid the bank’s accounts being qualified.

The project was achieved on time and on budget – with all property values accounted for and reconciled. This led directly to the consultancy agency being awarded a further £1.0 million contract.

Restructuring internal finance function to improve efficiency

This consultant was engaged by a major reinsurance company as a Change Consultant  following the company's acquisition.

Key Deliverables included:

  • Working with consultancy and multi-functional client teams on a wide-ranging organisation restructure, impacting all 1,100 staff.
  • Consolidating existing, ad-hoc marketing activity into a single function, to reduce costs and support sales teams more effectively in achieving new business and customer retention targets.
  • Restructuring the internal finance function to improve efficiency and internal customer service.

This consultant was the Head of Technical Architecture and Competence for a leading UK Insurance provider.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing an IT strategy in line with business requirements and policy.
  • Focusing direction within disparate IT functions following merger issues.
  • Developing and managing four infrastructure projects with budgets of £15 million.
  • Managing the implementation of e-Insurance applications for joint ventures and non branded products.
  • Computing strategy and refresh programme.

Key Achievements include:

  • Formulating a successful transition strategy for IT systems & infrastructure.
  • Rationalising 27 existing data repositories & developing a data warehouse platform.
  • Managing a team of Solution designers and Architects of an 8 strong team. 
  • Managing and responsible, as part of management team for overall £80m budget.
