This is an experienced consultant / project manager who can make a significant difference in a small period of time by understanding the key business processes and identifying ways to improve them and to harness systems in a way that maximises the return on investment in technology.
Whilst experience is steeped in the financial services industry (recent clients include Barclays), he has evidenced the portability of these skills into other sectors (e.g. British Chambers of Commerce), benefiting from the cross-fertilisation of ideas that this can bring.
Key Skills include:
- Excellent communication skills which enable him to act as an ‘interpreter’ between stakeholders from different communities within an organisation (e.g. technology and accounting) by identifying and demystifying the jargon used in each community.
- Ability to analyse and understand complex new business structures and processes quickly and to identify where improvements can be made.
- Extensive recent hands-on experience of governance and risk management in a major financial services company, operating at senior management level.
- Able to grasp the structure of systems – particularly those supplied by external providers – so that they can be harnessed to improve the existing business processes or, more importantly, how the business processes need to be moulded to the new software.
- Able to identify the risks involved in all of the above and to work with stakeholders to mitigate or manage those risks.
