Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS)
The Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS) is a multidisciplinary international organization dedicated to exploring the complex relationships among food, culture, and society. Its members, who approach the study of food from numerous disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as in the world of food beyond the academy, draw on a wide range of theoretical and practical approaches and seek to promote discussions about food and gastronomy that transgress traditional boundaries.

This is a Countryside Agency initiative to assist consumers to understand the link between food production and landscape, and to improve the market for regional produce. It is a comprehensive resource covering information about food producers, markets, and related businesses. Short case studies under Regional Activity include contact details and links to Web sites where available. There are also links to relevant Web resources for consumers, producers and schools. The Research area contains freely downloadable copies of relevant Countryside Agency or partner organisation research reports. The FAU provides information, communication and research in the area of food and soft drink advertising, particularly with regard to children. It comprises food and drink manufacturers, advertising agencies and broadcasting media. Its Web site includes information about the FAU, press releases and conference details.
